Branding and design system

Each year the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) hosts an annual meeting where practitioners from around the world come together for further education, networking and the latest tech. I was in charge of developing the branding system and the materials below for the Nashville, TN meeting in 2015.

The gritty direction allowed us to have breakthrough creative for the industry while still connecting with docs who had been in the practice 45+ years. From signage to swag to some pretty cool door vinyl, this brand left it’s mark after that meeting.

*record scratch* This project won the Nashville Brand Champion Award, which celebrates businesses that have successfully integrated the Music City brand into their industry and events. And the businesses selected have used signage, events, advertising, exhibits, live music offerings and even language and nametags infused with what makes Music City: the music.

 
 

This direct mail piece was insane. Multiple die cuts, barn saloon door fold and a magnet inside. So fun to work on. I partnered with a printer to make sure everything lined up exactly how it should.

A lot of trial and error but so worth it. The little details like the door hinge folding over and broken slats in the door are my favorite.

10,000 of these were printed and shipped to association members and partners across the globe.

 

Every annual meeting has a 5k, and every 5k needs shirts of course.

The logo needed to match the main branding but still be strong on it’s own. There are a few easter-eggs in this one – can you spot them all?

I’ll give ya one. The “EmPower” on the banner was the name of the publication the sponsored the event.

 

 

Nashville Brand Champion Award

 

Each year the city of Nashville awards a “Brand Champion” Award to businesses that have successfully integrated the Music City brand into their industry and events. For our submission, we retro-fitted a guitar case with compartments for all of the collateral produced for the Annual Meeting. My Art Director at the time, Travis, and I spent days measuring and went through countless x-acto blades making this thing. I created a one color vinyl graphic for the outside which gives this lab-coat industry the perfect amount of punk rock.

 
 

The award is this sick golden record that went great with our suit and tie decor. 👌
